Dear Parents and Carers,

We will be breaking up for half term, for all children, on Friday 12th February and school will reopen on Monday 22nd February to children of Critical Workers and other groups identified by the Government.

As is tradition, we will be holding our Spring Term Parents’ Evening just before we break up.  Appointments will be held remotely, via Google Meets, which can be accessed easily through your child’s Google Classroom using their usual ‘class code’. Your child is very welcome to join you at the meeting.

Due to the current restrictions, we will be offering appointments across three afternoons: Tuesday 9th February, Wednesday 10th February and Thursday 11th February, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. This means that the afternoon ‘live meets’ will not take place that week and there will be a slight reduction in the amount of remote learning so that teachers can prepare.

Appointments will be available for parents/carers of all children from Nursery (those who started in the Autumn Term 2020) to Year 6.  We ask parents/carers of Nursery children who joined us in January 2021 to email the Nursery email address to arrange their meetings. Parents/carers of children who access Blossom should book an appointment with their child’s mainstream class teacher and Blossom staff will then contact you separately.

The booking system will be going live at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening. It is important that you sign up for an appointment as this gives you an opportunity to discuss your child’s learning and achievements and ask any questions you may have.

All appointments will be 10 minutes long. We ask that parents/carers join the Google Meet at their exact appointment time (not before) so that each parent/carer has their full 10 minutes. We will be leaving 5 minute gaps between appointments so that timings can be kept on track.

We hope that parents and carers will welcome the opportunity to have an appointment via Google Meet which offers the face-to-face experience of our usual Parents’ Evening! If you are unable to meet in this way, please still book an appointment as we will be able to arrange a phone consultation instead. A form to sign up for a phone consultation will be sent out via ParentMail in the next few days.

Thank you for your support – we look forward to seeing you soon!
