World Book Day
To celebrate World Book Day this year we asked all the children and the staff to come to school in their pyjamas as we know that everyone loves to get comfortable at the end of day and cuddle up in bed to read a good book!
As part of these celebrations, all the children, from Nursery to Year 6, have read the same book. This is a really lovely book called Our Tower by Joseph Coelho with a hopeful message of people coming together to create a better place for us all to live.
Throughout the school, the children worked in their phase groups to complete a range of exciting and creative activities all linked to the book. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this year's World Book day and some examples of their work will be on display in school very soon.
Thank you to everyone for getting involved - lots of the children have asked me if they can come to school in their pyjamas again! Don't forget to spend your World Book Day book voucher - you can use it to buy one of the great World Book Day books or for some money off a different book of your choosing - get in quick as the popular books tend to sell out very quickly!
PSA Mother's Day surprise
I hope that the beautiful gifts to all our wonderful female family members have made it home safely! What a spectacularly kind and joyous gesture from the Parent Staff Association - I hope that the hyacinths grow well and provide some pleasure and happiness in your homes.
Express CIC - Coffee Morning
Express is an independent user led organisation based in the borough of Kingston upon Thames. Their aim is to support autistic people and their families, and promote awareness and acceptance in the community. On Monday 18th March (10:00 - 12:00) in Surbiton, they are holding a coffee morning meet up as an opportunity to meet other parents, enjoy a coffee and a chat and find out more about the services that Express offer. If you think that this could be helpful to you, please book a space here.
Wishing you all a great weekend - see you next week.
