Specsavers New Malden visit to Year 4
Year 4 were lucky to have a visitor from Specsavers in New Malden this week. Optometrist Bhavisha Patel spent the afternoon working with all the children in Year 4. They learnt all about how the eye works, the importance of eye tests and what the optometrist does when conducting an eye test. The children also got the opportunity to use and experiment with some of the equipment that they use and even got a goody bag from the Specsavers team! Please consider using Specsavers in New Malden for all your eyecare needs.

We now have 185 meetings booked but there are still many families who are yet to book a meeting. Please can you prioritise doing this through your Arbor account as soon as possible - bookings will close at midday on Monday 3rd March. We want to achieve 100% coverage so please expect teachers to reach out to you for a meeting date if you have not managed to make a booking.
New programme of speech and language support for Kingston families
Your Healthcare’s Children's Speech and Language Team has introduced a new approach to supporting families by relaunching their Facebook page and Instagram account, with a programme of topical content for families with children who have speech, language and communication needs and/or swallowing needs. The social media pages are designed to serve as a virtual support system, offering tips, resources, personalised and original content and a platform for connection among families experiencing similar challenges.
The re-worked Facebook and Instagram page will also feature engaging video featuring the children’s speech and language team. Families can access practical advice on how to encourage communication skills at home and join activities such as book clubs and coffee mornings.
Carmel Brady, children’s speech and language lead, commented,
“We know there is a real thirst for information and support among families who have a child with speech and language difficulties, so we are truly delighted to provide trusted, tailored information for parents. Our goal is to empower them to effectively support their children’s speech and language needs”.
