Welcome to the final newsletter of the academic year! As always, it has flown past and the children are all ready and prepared for the next phase of their academic journey. We have had a very successful year with great learning results, sporting success, amazing dramatic performances and of course the terrific Ofsted report that we all worked so hard to achieve.
The end of the school year is always tinged with sadness as we say goodbye to staff members moving on and our Year 6 pupils leaving us to start secondary school. We wish Mrs Vivian, Mrs Hawthorne, Miss Nemeshanyi and Miss Szwed the best of luck in their next adventures and thank them for everything that they have done for the King's Oak community.
Congratulations to Miss Catherine in Nursery who will be going on maternity leave at the end of term. We hope that everything goes well and look forward to meeting the new addition to the family in due course.

Year 6 Leavers Events
Year 6 have had a busy week with all their fantastic leavers events. Starting off with an amazing performance of Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies to the school and then to parents and carers.
On Thursday after school they took part in a wonderful leavers party. Supported by the PSA and part-funded by the proceeds from their own fundraising activities, they enjoyed a bouncy castle assault course, dancing, candy floss, ice cream, pizza and a mocktail and snack station! They all had a brilliant time and helped to create lasting memories of their final week at primary school. Special thanks to the PSA for putting on this amazing event for the children, they loved it!
To finish the week, Year 6 have held their sports morning today. Braving the heat but fuelled by the sugar from their party, they gave some fantastic sporting performances and worked really well together as a team to earn lots of points for Year 6. We will be able to share the results of all the sports events in assembly on Monday.
Thank you to everyone in Year 6 for your support and dedication this year and since you have joined King's Oak. You have shown excellent motivation and should be very proud of your achievements this year, best of luck for Year 7 and beyond!
Music Opportunities
Kingston Music Service has lots to offer every age group in September and would love to see lots of our students signing up to learn an instrument.
STARter Groups are affordable group classes for beginners. The lessons involve singing, playing, rhythm games and lots of fun and are a great introduction to one of the following: Trumpet, Violin, Clarinet, Cello or Trombone. All lessons take place at Tolworth Girls School.
Percussion Jam is a great opportunity for 4-8 year olds to have fun learning to play various percussion instruments, performing arrangements of well known songs and composing their own pieces
If your child already plays an instrument, they are warmly welcome to one of the KMS ensembles - from string orchestras to jazz bands and concert bands to percussion ensembles, there is something for everyone!
Olympic Sports Day
As mentioned last week, a reminder about the Olympic Sports day taking place tomorrow at Kingsmeadow. The events look great - hopefully some of you will be able to attend. Let us know how it goes.
School Council Break the Rules Day
We have had an excellent response to our Break the Rules Day today. The children and staff have enjoyed being able to pay for the privilege of breaking one of the five rules selected by School Council! The weather meant that the hoody option had a low take-up but the crazy hair, odd socks, nail varnish and trainers were a big hit. The fundraising activity has raised over £200 towards further playground improvements - thanks everyone for supporting the school council with this initiative.
Have a fantastic weekend, see you on Monday for the last three days of term. Please note that school finishes at 14:00 on Wednesday.
