Welcome to the final newsletter of the Spring Term! A reminder that next Thursday 28th March is the last day of school before the Easter break and that school will finish at 14:00. For Reception to Year 6, the Summer Term starts on Tuesday 16th April. Nursery and Pre School have had separate communication about their staggered start to accommodate home visits for our new starters.
We're Going on a Bear Hunt comes to Kingston
If you are looking for a fun activity to complete during the break, why not check out this exciting trail.
In partnership with Wild in Art and Walker Books, Kingston First is thrilled to announce the Bear Trail, inspired by Michael Rosen's iconic children's book "We're Going on a Bear Hunt. A free public trail that promises an enchanting journey through art, adventure, and community engagement.
From 29 March to 7 June 2024, the Kingston Bear Hunt Trail will be open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, inviting residents, workers and visitors to explore Kingston's streets, and landmarks in search of these captivating bear sculptures. Each bear, uniquely designed by ten different artists will showcase never-before-seen artwork from 5 of the sculptures. The bears capture light-hearted and thought-provoking themes, including diversity, sustainability, climate change, biodiversity, and more.
You can grab a trail guide leaflet at Waterstones, Fusebox, and The Rose Theatre. Here you’ll find a map of the trail, where you can tick off all 10 bears as you make your way around Kingston!

PSA Textile Recycling
We have a fantastic new opportunity to help recycle whilst also raising funds for the PSA! You might have already seen the textile recycling bin next to the cycle shelters at the start of the KS1 playground. Please consider donating any clean but unwanted clothing, towels, sheets, blankets, curtains or shoes. The contents will be recycled and the PSA will receive funds for the weight of our donations - if you are having a clear out, please bring them in and pop them in the textile recycling bank. It gets emptied every few weeks so lets see if we can fill it!
Family Health and Wellbeing
Another opportunity for an Easter holiday activity is the below event taking place on Wednesday 3rd April in Chessington. Please head along if you think it might be helpful for you.
Full Cycle
Our own very local non-profit bike project have been very supportive of the school during our recent bikebaility projects and by providing refurbished cycles to members of our community. If you have any cycling needs - recycled bikes, servicing or maintenance - please support them.
We have had a very positive term with lots of learning success and so many additional opportunities for the children. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the success of our fantastic school.
Wishing all members of our school community a relaxing, happy and peaceful break. I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed, energised and full of the joys of summer on the 16th April!
Happy holidays everyone.
