Moving on
At this time of year, we always have some fond farewells to staff members who are moving on to new challenges and opportunities away from King’s Oak. Our teaching staff moving on at the end of this term are: Miss Bacon, Miss Mozo, Mrs Syeda and Miss Osman. We wish them all well in the next stages of their careers and thank them for their contribution to our school.
Children will be told on Monday about their teacher for the next academic year ahead of transition events taking place later in the week. This information will be sent to parents on Monday too ahead of end of year reports going out hopefully on Wednesday.
Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 Universal Free School Meals - uptake form
As you may have seen in the media, for the next academic year, between September 2023 and July 2024, all children in schools across London will be able to have a free school meal. The funding for this is coming from the Mayor of London. It would be great if we could get as many families as possible to benefit from this scheme - not only enabling all children to have a cooked meal during the school day but a considerable financial saving for families too. So that we can let our caterers know the potential uptake for the free KS2 school meals, please can I ask anyone interested in taking it up to complete this very quick Google Form - no commitment, just an indication of how many meals we will be serving in September. Thank you.
Year 6 Cake Sales
Year 6 will be running 2 cake sales next week to raise money for their leavers' party. They will be on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th straight after school under the shelter. Please support them so that they can contribute to the costs of their end of primary school party - we want it to be a good one!
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Sports Morning
Well done to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 for their phenomenal sporting performances this morning at their sports day. Even though it was hot, they showed immense determination and resilience in completing all the activities and events. Thanks to all the parents and carers who came along to support. Our final sports events will be taking place next week for Pre School and Nursery on Wednesday and Year 5 and 6 on Friday.
Year 2 Country Dancing
Sadly, the borough Country Dancing Festival got cancelled this week because of the weather. Keen to still show off all the dances that they had learnt, Year 2 performed for their parents at the end of sports day. Even after all the activities, they still had the energy for some great dancing and were joined by our visitors for the final routine. Well done Year 2 and visitors for such stylish moves!
St John's Church Fun Day
Our local church, St John's on Kingston Road, is holding a fun day tomorrow - please go along and support them if you can.
Have a great weekend, I cannot believe that we only have two weeks left of this academic year!
