As part of our topic work, we visited Hogsmill Sewage Treatment Works where we learnt all about how the water we get from our taps is recycled and reused. We had the chance to recreate a sewage filtration system to understand how water is cleaned of dirt and is cycled back into homes and buildings. We also had the chance to visit the nature reserve where some of us were lucky enough to do a bit of pond dipping and find a rare species of great crested newt. We managed to spot lots of birds and ducks as well as observe these species in their habitat.
