This half-term in geography, we have been learning about volcanoes and how they are formed.  This week, we learnt that around the Pacific Ocean is where the majority of volcanos are located in the world, this is called the ring of fire. We learnt that this is because there is more movement in the Pacific tectonic plate, which is causing more volcanoes to form in this area. We worked in partners using atlases and Chromebooks to locate the volcanos which make up the ring of fire and added them to our class map. 

Next week, we plan to make ear defenders using cardboard, yoghurt pots, bubble wrap and fabrics etc to explore how to absorb sound as part of our science topic of sound. Please if you have any of these items at home could you bring in by next Thursday - thank you!
