This week the children have been chopping onions, potatoes and carrots ready to make some turnip soup, just like in our story! We chopped the turnips separately as the children were amazed that a turnip "is like wood!" 

This week we have carried on learning our story 'The Gigantic Turnip' and learning new vocabulary such as harvested and sowed. In maths, we have continued looking at the composition of numbers up to 10 and started to look at patterns, ready for next week when we look at them in even more detail. 

Our new story next week is 'The Extraordinary Gardner', which will look at planting and growing. We will also be using seeds and plants in our garden, so be ready for muddy clothes and hands over the next few weeks!
