This week in nursery, the children enjoyed listening to the story of The Gingerbread Man. They have been joining in with the repeated phrase, ‘run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man’. We have been thinking about the different characters in the story and discussing our favourites. 

While outside, the children have been transporting water into the mud kitchen to make cakes. We have discussed the ingredients that might go into a cake as well as the method of making a cake. The teacher introduced the idea of adding vegetables to the chocolate cake. The children decided they were going to make a chocolate and beetroot cake and use flowers and leaves to decorate it.  

Next week we will continue to focus on The Gingerbread Man.
