This week in nursery, the children have continued to listen to the story ‘The Little Red Hen’. We have had lots of fun retelling the story and acting out the different roles as well as creating story maps. On Thursday we listened to a different version of the story. The children were very good at noticing the changes and then had a go at changing some characters themselves. 

During carpet sessions we have started to discuss the season of summer with the children as well as watch a BBC video which has created a lot of great talking points on the carpet. They especially enjoyed discussing the beach and discussing their own experiences of holidays or days out to the seaside. We have also been learning a new summer song. I have shared the link for the video and song below for anyone who would like to watch it with their children. 

Outside, the children have been having lots of fun painting on cling film and mark making with water and paintbrushes.
