The last few weeks the teachers have been working with the children to find out about their number knowledge. The children are able to count to 5 or 10 and some even beyond! The children are using one to one correspondence to count objects which is something we practice during free flow every day in our play.

We have noticed that many of our children are unsure of recognising numbers, so we have been working on this. We have been playing interactive games, and using every opportunity to recognise as many numbers as we possibly can. We have also been painting, drawing, forming numbers using all sorts of media, so the children get to practise all the time.
