Year 2
Christmas and so much more!
Wow! The children were outstanding in their Christmas production.
Thank you for all your help and support. The turnout was amazing, and the children really appreciated that you came to cheer them on.
In addition to all the practising we have done, the children have been continuing the story of Harvey Slumfenburger, writing as Father Christmas makes his return journey from the Roly-Poly Mountain.
The children have been consolidating their learning of the 2, 5 and 10 times tables in maths as well as looking back on the work we have covered in place value and partitioning of 10s and 1s. We have also been reviewing all we have covered in addition and subtraction.
In science, we have been learning about John Dunlop and John McAdam. Next week, we will look at Charles Macintosh.
In RE, we have been looking at why Christians believe Christmas is special and how we know Christmas is coming.
In phonics, we have been looking at the spelling <oo> and its different sounds in moon and book.
