Year 2
DT and more...
In preparation for building our 'Three Little Pigs' house in DT the children have been learning all about how to make structures stronger. When using paper and cardboard they have learnt about layering paper, corrugation, using the shape of a triangular prism to reinforce structures and more.
This week we looked at different joining techniques. The children practised making tabs, flange joins, slots and brace joins.
Please continue to bring small cardboard boxes in for us to use in our lessons. Thank you
Next week we will be looking at equal groups as repeated addition in maths, and we will be finishing up our Anti-Bullying week text 'A Shopping Basket' by John Burningham.
