Year 2
Maths and more...
This week, the children have enjoyed experimenting with 2D and 3D shapes. They have been looking at vertices, faces and edges. We used Polydron, connecting multiple 2D shapes to create the corresponding 3D shape if it was possible.
This week the children also started to grow broad bean seeds, using tissues, a zip-lock bag and some water. They are in the classrooms, peek in and see. We are all excited about watching them grow.
In art, the children used charcoal to create the next in the series of their fruit still life drawings. Next week, we will use pastels.
In English, we have been looking at comparisons between Jack and the Beanstalk and Jack and the Baked Beanstalk.
Have a lovely weekend. If you are out and about and have time to collect some natural resources for us, for example, twigs, leaves, fir cones, moss etc, we will be creating collages for World Book Day next Thursday. Your help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
