We finished last week on a high; a fabulous tea party to celebrate the end of Mr Gumpy's Outing. This week we started our new book Poles Apart by Jeanne Willis and Jarvis. This has links with our geography topic, learning about the Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere, North and South Poles and the Equator. In our English and guided reading lessons we have been reading about the adventures of Mr White, Mr and Mrs Pilchard-Brown, Peeky, Pooky and Pog. The children enjoyed working in groups to act out the part of the story where the animals first meet. What a surprise they all had! The penguins are 12,340 miles from home and who knows what might happen next...
