This week, in English, the children have been reading the story 'Harvey Slumfenburger's Christmas Present', by John Burningham.  Based on the format of the book, they worked collaboratively in twos and threes to decide how Father Christmas would get back to the North Pole and what the problem was with his choice of transport. Once this plan was complete they used the same format to plan their writing. They had a lovely time coming up with ways in which their vehicles would stop working. A scooter crashed into a tree, the Hot Air Balloon popped and the zip-wire snapped! We are sure they will tell you all about the story, if you ask.
