Year 1

A trip to St John's Church - Harvest

On Thursday morning, our Year 1 classes took turns visiting St John's Church on Kingston Road. This visit supported our learning in RE about how and why Christians celebrate Harvest festival at this time of year.  All the children were a credit to the school both in terms of their behaviour and their ability to answer some fairly challenging questions. May we say a big thank you to everyone who made a food donation, this will help to support the vital work of the Kingston food bank. Next week, we will be continuing with our class book "10 things I can do to help our world", as part of which we are hoping to try junk modelling. If you have any used materials such as boxes, yogurt pots or cardboard tubes, please bring them to school next week!
