Year 1

Matisse inspiration!

This week in Year 1 the children have been very busy as ever. They have been practising with money in maths, identifying and using coins. In phonics they have been building poly-syllabic words and using them in building sentences. In English they have been making aliens from the moon and using those to help re-tell the story to each other. They have just started to write their own stories based on the book The Man on the Moon. The image this week is an example of how some of the children created artwork based on Henri Matisse. They have really enjoyed learning about the use of colour and shape to create art.
