Year 1
Skeleton and joints!
Another busy week in Year 1! The children have been working hard learning about The Great Fire of London this week and concentrating on writing sentences about our book Vlad and The Great Fire of London. They have been working on using their handwriting and also trying to include because or and in their sentences.
They have created their own paper skeleton this week, focusing on how the joints are joined and move. Next week we are going to look at how we can make our skeleton move.
We are learning about taste and some of the children have had an opportunity to try bitter, sour, salty and sweet tastes. Perhaps over the weekend you could try and find some of those tastes to try with your children, bitter was not an easy taste to replicate! We used very high cocoa dark chocolate and the children were very disappointed with how it tasted.
Next week is also World Book Day and parent consultations so please check the newsletter and website for all the information on these events.
Thank you, from the Year 1 Team.
