We have finished off our Design Technology unit on sewing. As you can see, we have made miniature Ancient Egyptian tunics. To do this we had to cut out the two pieces fabric and sew them together - making sure to leave the head and arm holes. We added surface decoration by sewing on beads: we used running and back stitch to do this. Using fabric pens, we added patterns and symbols inspired by the ones used by Ancient Egyptians to decorate their clothes and tomb walls. They are going to make a fantastic display outside our classroom before being sent home.
