This week we have been learning about volume. We started by recapping what volume is: how much space an object takes up. We talked about how objects can be compared by their volume and how we could measure an objects volume. To explore this further we used 1 cm cubed dienes blocks. By using these, we estimated the volume of various classroom objects. In the picture you can see our attempts at estimating the volume of a whiteboard rubber. We were all surprised at just how many dienes blocks we needed. Next week we will be learning to find the volume of cubiods by using our multiplication skills.
