This week in Year 5, we have been exploring what a biography is and the key features of a biography. We know that a biography is a non-fiction text, where readers learn facts and key information on a subject. We explored Edmund Hillary, one of the first people to climb the summit of Mount Everest and as a class, we collaborated and worked effectively in small groups to gather information about him. With this information, we continued to collaborate as a class, to write a shared-write biography, sharing interesting information on Edmund!

Our learning this week will support our writing, as we will progress onto independently writing a biography on Tenzing Norgay - Edmund's co-climber, whom also reached the summit at the same time.
