Science - Friction
This week, we have been continuing our topic on forces - looking at friction. We discussed what friction was and how it can be helpful or unhelpful. We then thought about how we could test and record the friction force. Using a shoe with good treads, we used a newton meter to measure the force of the friction on different surfaces while pulling the shoe across the surfaces. After completing our experiment, we looked at the results and plotted these on a graph. We came to the conclusion that surfaces which were rougher or bumpy, produced more friction than those which were smooth. After half term we will start a new topic - watch this space!
