Year 6
Maths
This week we have been learning to solve problems as part of a group. We have been thinking about what we need to find out, what we already know from the problem, what knowledge we have already and strategies we can use to solve the problem. By talking through these questions in the group, it helps us to make sure we know what we need to do and how to do it. It is really useful to have more than one pair of eyes to double-check our working out. When we have solved the problem, we have to explain to each other how we have solved it. This is really useful to imbed what we have learnt during the lesson and gives us a chance to show off our mathematical vocabulary. Next week, we will be solving more problems.
