Year 6

Remembrance

The war memorial in New Malden is celebrating its centenary this year! To celebrate, the local branch of the Royal British Legion is holding an art competition entitled "What remembrance means to me". Therefore , this week in Year 6 we have spent some time discussing what remembrance is and discussing how we could create a piece of art that reflects what it means to us. The photo above is a small selection of the artwork produced. They are going to be submitted for judging by the local Royal British Legion and, fingers crossed, we will see some of year 6's work at the local methodist church on the 8th of November. Hopefully, we may even win a prize of two! Next week, we are going to be continuing our preparations for our World War 2 afternoon on the 21st Of November.
