Our art unit for the Autumn term is inspired by the Evacuation of Dunkirk painted by Charles Cundall. This week we have been learning about what the evacuation of Dunkirk was. We looked at the book The Little Ships by Louise Borden which tells the story of a little girl who sneaks onto her Dad's boat and helps on the beaches of Dunkirk. On our trip on the 25th of September (payment deadline by 4pm Monday 16th September) to the Imperial War Museum, we will be keeping our eyes peeled for the painting of the Evacuation of Dunkirk. Next week we will be looking at different water colour techniques we will need to use to paint our own pictures.
