We have been trying to decolonise the art curriculum at King's Oak by looking at a broader range of artists with more diverse backgrounds. For our art unit this term we are focusing on Francophone artists - artists who speak French - from all over the French-speaking world. This week, we have been choosing one of the artists from the image above to find out more about. We have been discovering about their lives and the work they have produced and are still producing. We got to choose from established and emerging artists from a variety of countries. Next week, we will be focusing on one particular artist and using the same media and techniques to make some artwork inspired by our text "The Graveyard Book".
