Year 6

World Book Day
This Thursday, King's Oak celebrated World Book Day. We had a visit from the author Mrs P. She is the author of Jesse and Jojo, a book about how children can cope with worries and uncomfortable emotions. She led a workshop for each phase across the school where she introduced her book Jessie and Jojo, talked to the children about the writing process and answered questions. We then completed activities linked to the theme of Jesse and Jojo. We wrote poems about emotions using our senses; we made our own self-help manuals listing strategies we can use to help with big emotions; we made artwork inspired by the "bother bugs" from Jesse and Jojo and also made an "emotions village" (pictured above).
The Year 6 team would like to thank everyone who attended a parent's evening appointment this week. If you have yet to make an appointment or see your child's class teacher please contact the office or speak to their teacher as soon as possible to arrange one.
