Linking to our book, A Gift for Amma, the children have been learning all about Diwali festivals: delicious food, dancing, prayers, gifts, twinkling lights, decorations and fireworks. Diwali is a time for families to celebrate together, wearing beautiful clothing. The children have appreciated the vibrant colours and fabrics used to make saris. Our next book of the week is My Mother’s Sari by Sandhya Rao.

On Friday we had a party with treats and lots of messy play. A time to squish little hands though baked beans and hollow out big pumpkins.
