Year 4

Making 1000

In maths, we have started working on place value. This week we have been learning about the value of the number 1000. In groups, we thought about the different ways that we can make the number 1000 and specifically thought about groups of 10. We then thought about maths in real life and where we can find the value of 1000 in different environments. Some ideas we thought of were 1kg = 1000g, 1m = 1000mm and 1l is 1000ml. After half-term, we are very much looking forward to our trip to the Natural History Museum where we will take part in a volcano and earthquake workshop.
