Year 6
Computing: Brute force hacking
This week in computing, we have been learning about passwords and why they are important. We have found out that it can take a human a very long time to work out a 3-digit password but a computer can do it very quickly. This is because a computer can run a short piece of code to guess the password over and over again very quickly until it gets it right. This is called brute force hacking. We used the Scratch website to change the code needed to hack a 3-digit code so it could hack a 4-digit code. Next week, we will be learning about computers through the ages and making our own timelines of the development of the computer.
