Year 6
Guided reading
This week in guided reading, we have continued to develop our understanding of a character’s motives and actions based on their emotions and interactions with others. We have used an emotions graph to track the Man Jack’s feelings throughout the first chapter of The Graveyard Book.
In English, we have written newsflashes about the crime and the missing toddler at the start of The Graveyard Book. We have used a range of tenses to present the facts and are beginning to record our writing as a radio broadcast.
On Thursday, we enjoyed taking part in a range of activities including art and poetry writing based on the book Our Tower as part of our World Book Day celebrations.
Next week we will be:
-
Writing a narrative in English.
-
Creating infographic timelines about the history of computers.
-
Creating a scaled down model of a flood-proof house in design and technology.
