On Tuesday, as part of our RE Learning about Advent, both Year 1 classes visited St John's Church on Kingston Road. Here the lovely people from the Church were able to help us with our learning about Advent and Christmas, and why these are so important to Christians. In particular, we learned about the importance of the advent wreath and the significance of the candles standing for Peace, Love, Joy and Hope. The children were a credit to the school in how they behaved throughtout this visit- we are very proud of them!
