This week in science, we learnt that there are three types of rocks: sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic. Rocks can be categorised into these three groups depending on how they are formed. In our lesson, we explored a range of rocks such as marble, slate, granite, quartz and sandstone. We looked carefully at each of their features and recorded our observations on a table. We focused on if they were smooth, rough, heavy, light, shiny, soft or hard.
