This week the children have been listening to the story ‘My Mothers Sari’. We have continued our discussions around India and have been thinking about the clothes people wear in different countries. While listening to our story this week we have been focusing on key vocabulary. Our words this week are; sari, up, down, around and under.

During free flow the children have been particularly interested in exploring materials, draping them to create different outfits and using them to create dens around the nursery.  By offering a range of different materials the children were able to talk about the prints, lengths and textures. We experimented with different styles and ways to tie up the material to create different looks. 

With all the rain this week, the children have also been having lots of fun in the outdoor areas. We have been busy splashing, collecting, mixing and transporting the rain water around the garden.
