Year 5 were visited from members of the local community police team. Students listened to an informative presentation about the work the officers normally do on a day-to-day basis and had a chance to ask questions. Next came the super exciting bit! The children were taken outside in small groups to have a go at using the speed guns (or the laser pro device as the police call them). As you are aware, the speed limit outside school is 20mph. The majority of motorists were adhering to the limit but the children did manage to catch a few going faster than 20mph. These motorists were pulled over by the police and then questioned.  Hopefully, the experience was enough to make people think twice about speeding outside a school again.
