Year 6
English and computing
In English this week we have started our new book, ‘Letters From The Lighthouse’ by Emma Carroll. Using a range of sources, we imagined how it would feel to experience an air raid. Applying our learning habits of making links and questioning, we developed empathy for those who had experienced this traumatic experience.
In computing, we learnt that there are many different types of secret code and how to decipher some common codes such as the acrostic code and the pigpen cypher. Linking our learning to our history topic, we learnt all about Bletchley Park, the Enigma machine and Alan Turing.
