Year 5
PSHE: Healthy me!
This week in Year 5, we have started to discuss how to ensure our bodies stay healthy. We explored the idea of smoking, and the effect it has on someone's body. We were quizzed on the general knowledge based around smoking and were shocked with the findings and statistics. Through discussion, we learnt that smoking negatively affects areas such as the skin, lips, teeth, mouth, throat, toes, lungs and many more. We were shocked to see the outcomes of these affects as they were quite graphic. We also made useful links, to the current day affects of smoking vapes. We understood they too, can have significant, negative affects on people, and they are not always necessarily a better alternative. In our next session, we will be equipped with the knowledge to provide persuasive statements on why smoking is not healthy for our bodies.
