Year 6

Junior Citizens
This week, Year 6 attended a Junior Citizens event hosted at Chessington World of Adventures. There were ten organisations represented and each one was providing an insight into what being a good citizen involves. Some of the organisations provided real life scenarios such as the bikeability team challenging the children to spot the 4 faults with a bicycle. The Kingston police set up a "realistic" stranger danger scenario that involved the children being tempted by a "stranger" (a plain clothes police officer) to go with him and see some baby giraffes. Amazingly, despite the high profile of "stranger danger" campaigns some children still went with the adult. Please have a reminder chat with your children about the risks of strangers. On a more positive note every child received a free oyster card holder courtesy of TfL that they will be bringing home today.
