This week in maths, we have been investigating and calculating the area of shapes. We now know that area is different from perimeter as area is the amount of space inside a shape. We started off our learning this week by using 10 post-it notes to create different shapes. Even though the shape had changed, the area hadn't, as we still had 10 squares in total. The space inside the shape remained the same. We then drew our shapes in our maths books, ensuring we had 10 squares in total.
